MIA and a PSA of sorts

I am so sorry I missed posting last week, I was still recovering from a break-in to our home. Luckily we were not at home at the time of the break-in, but a lot was taken and we have been working with the insurance to replace the things that can be replaced.

So now income to my PSA of sorts, if you haven't done a home inventory, now is a great time to start. There are many different options for making your inventory, use your camcorder and walk around your house filming every room, open the drawers and closets. You could also make a spreadsheet or notebook of serial and model numbers. If you have favorite peices of jewelry or an antique handed down piece of furniture, why not photograph it and scrap about it? Then when you hand it down, they not only have the item, but a story to go with it. And heaven forbid, something should happen, you will have documentation of what the item looks like and will have preserved some of he memories associated with that item.

So, that is my challenge to you this week, find precious item, whether it is worth money or not doesn't matter, but precious to you and photograph it and scrap about it. I have one necklace that was not in my jewelry box and was missed, it was my mom's and I am happy to still have that item because it reminds me of family. I'll be back next week with a page on my treasures, I hope to see your work, link up here if you do make a page, I'd love to see it.

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you've all had a great week.  Did you get much time to scrap?  My daughter's birthmom came for a visit, so I didn't have a lot, myself.  It was great fun, but back to routines, again.  I completed the challenge that was on the Gotta Pixel site - the Grab Bag Challenge - that I mentioned, last week.  I am so reliant on templates, but I didn't use one, this time.  Wow!  I am really not all that creative.  Haha!  But, it was good to challenge myself in that way.
I used A+ Designs' kit My Girl
The challenge, which you can find here, was a lot of fun.  You picked a number which represented a jewelry box.  Then, the moderator told you what that number represented.  Mine represented rubies (my birthstone, coincidentally), and that meant my papers could only be red and/or pink.  I could use any elements, in any color, though.
So, this is what I came up with:

Have you challenged yourself in your scrapping, recently?

Oh, and just a heads up...mark your calendars for November 1st.  A+ Designs and DaniMoy Designs have a collaboration coming out, called Twinkle Toes.  It's a dance themed kit, and it's adorable!  I have seen it, am waiting to get my links, so I can work on a layout or two.  We'll highlight some layouts on or around the first, so you can see what we do with it.  But, I think you'll love the kit, so grab it when it shows up in the stores!

Challenge Tuesday

Hi!  I can't believe it's already my turn, again, for the blog post.  Where has this time gone?
I haven't done very many challenges, yet, this month.  But, I have a list of the ones I want to get to.
How about you?  Has anyone taken me up on my challenge challenge?
One of the challenges on my list, this month, is from Gotta Pixel.  It's their  Grab Bag challenge for October.  You can check it out here.  I am REALLY going to be challenged...I can only use papers that are pink or red, on mine.  Yikes.  I'm thinking  My Girl will be my go-to kit for this particular challenge.  Check it out!  My Girl

Mel also has a new kit for fall, that I love.  Right now, it's available only at Scrapbook-Bytes, in their Grab-A-Byte event.  But you should take a peek.  It's called Falling Again.  Here is what it looks like:
Here are the links to the parts:
Papers
Elements
Artistic Smears

Here are some layouts that some of our CT did with this beautiful kit:

This is mine:

Kovaxka:
and Mel:

I hope you can find some time to scrap, this week.  And, if you can, try a challenge.  Use one of A+ Designs beautiful kits, and post it in the comments, so we can see how creative you are!  I will be back, next week, and will hopefully have that Grab Bag challenge completed.  I will post it, if so :)
In the meantime, have a wonderful week!

A Whimsy QP Freebie!

Hi everyone! Noemi here once again... This will be my last post before I'll go MIA here and around digiscrapland. Things will be a bit busy at home as we are going to move to another state. There will be lots of work and settling to do so don't be surprised if you won't see me here for a while. I'm not leaving Mel's team, I'll only be gone for a few weeks (I hope!).

I picked this wonderful kit from Mel's store, Whimsy Kit... It's so fancy with all the sparkle and glitter elements in it. It includes 15 gorgeous papers, 1 small bead alpha sheet, 7 flowers, 1 cluster frame, 1 flower swirl , 1 butterfly and swirl , 3 ribbons , 5 rickracs , 2 paint splats, 1 staple, 3 swirls , 1 sparkles, 1 plain frame, 1 feather, 11 bonus wordarts created by Mel's creative team members, and 1 leaf cluster. Plus, if you buy the whole kit, you get the templates FREE! You will find the kit at Mel's store in Gotta Pixel.

Here is a layout I made with the kit:

And if you love it, I made a little QP freebie for all of you, as I always do:

Just click on the preview to go to the download page.

Once again, thanks for stopping by and please don't forget to leave Mel some love or simply tell us what you think :)

Happy scrapping!
