LOTD 9/30

Hey everyone! Yolanda here again with this weeks LOTD. First up, we have Grandpa's Hat by lynnirene -


Isn't that just the cutest?! She combined 2 of Mel's wonderful kits Somewhere Over and Tweedle Dee to whip up this adorable layout. I chose her page because the overall composition is beautiful, the colors she chose compliment her photos very well, her layering is wonderful, I really like the way she combined frames, no frames and photo masks AND the subject is just absolutely adorable! Next up is CT member Virginie's (VissyMac) layout called Color Me Happy 2 -


She used Mel's Color Me Happy kit to create this psychedelic layout. I love how the photo completely takes center-stage, the photo treatment, and the photo itself, along with her awesome title work. Stop in the gallery and leave Virginie some love here!

Falling Again QP Freebie

Can you believe that the end of September is here already?  Fall is in the air in many places around the US and for many of us that means cooler temperature, Friday night football games, bonfires, and falling leaves.  Mel has a fantastic kit in her store called Falling Again that is just perfect for scrapping those fall memories.  When I saw the preview for the kit I knew I had some photos screaming to be scrapped.

My kids love to “help” rake leaves.  Of course after all that help they deserve to be allowed to jump into those newly raked piles.  I look forward to capturing that moment every year!  I know I’m going to be sad when they outgrow this stage of childhood.

I made this layout into a QP for all of you so you could have a head start on scraping some of those fall photos you have around.  I hope you enjoy it!

before i get down to business, i want to apologize for all lower-case lettering in this post.  my 4 month old son is sitting in my lap and i'm typing this one-handed.  i bet mel is wanting to beat me since she's a teacher and all...i'm sorry mel!! :o)  now, take a look at these layouts floating around the a+designs gallery!

i love the rich colors in the photos and how they match the colors of the winter's spring kit she used so perfectly, the way she layered her photos on top of each other to give them more depth. i think it's a beautiful page in its simplicity.

next up is my little brother, by ct member christa (darthchrista) -

i absolutely love the photo treatment she used for the combination of kits/colors she chose. christa used both simply perfect and berry pickin' for this lo and i think she did a fab job of picking and choosing elements. they just mesh so well together, don't you think? like kerry's layout, i think the way christa layered her photos looks wonderful and her shadow work is very nice!

these ladies both deserve some love for these beautiful pages, so be sure to stop in the gallery and tell both kerry and christa what a wonderful job they did!

I am so excited to be bringing you LOTD today. Check out these beauties I found floating around in the A+Designs gallery at ESS! First, I have Turning Two by Becca (By Becca), using Mel's Simply Perfect kit -



Where to start? I absolutely love the circular photos, the added circle elements, the scattered flowers and beads, the paper wave, her shadow work - oh it is just SUCH a gorgeous page! Stop in the gallery and leave Becca some love!

The next little lovely I found is by CT member Amy (starwarsgirl06) called Sleepy. Amy used Mel's Flower Child kit, available now at ESS.



Isn't it wonderful? I love her corner cluster, the scattered beads, the way she made a frame out of the bracelet, the way she stitched the flowers and peace signs to the ric rac, and of course, the sleepy photos of her daughter! Such a peaceful layout :o) Don't forget to leave Amy some love!
