A Little Tuesday Scraplift Tip

Last week, Angela featured a challenge at Scrapbook-bytes that used her layout as an inspiration for their first scraplift challenge of the month. To jog your memories a little bit, here is the layout she made using Mel's Dirt Don't Hurt Collab Kit with LauraMarie Scraps.

Have you had the chance to pick an idea from her layout yet? The large photo in her layout is placed simply perfectly. And have you noticed how she blended her son's name to it? Those are the best parts in her page that inspired me to do my layout below:

I used Mel's Zesty Spice Kit available at Scrapbook-bytes. I blended some swirls on the main photo just like how angela blended her son's name on the dirt :) Clever technique right? Just a few of the many ways you can recycle your stash in your pages.

Maybe you have been inspired by angela's layout too. Maybe you can share it with us here so we can leave you some love. We'd appreciate it a lot if you could share your layouts with us using Mel's kits. We'd love to see them and get inspired by them too.

So, that's it for now. We hope we gave you a little bit of inspiration to scrap today.

Have fun!

Creating Layouts for Friends: LOTW, Aug Week 4

Today, I've picked out this layout at Scrapbook-bytes from Junebugmom68 as the Layout of the Week.

Scrapping pages for our friends can show them how much they mean to us too. She just showed us just that in her layout here.

You can see more of her fun layouts in her gallery at Scrapbook-bytes.

She used Dirt Don't Hurt Collab Kit, a kit by A+ Designs and LauraMarie Scraps:

This kit is available at Gotta Pixel and Scrapbook-bytes. If you want to see more layouts with this kit, you can find it here.

Please don't forget to leave Junebugmom68 some love.

'til next time!

Do you like to challenge yourself?

I hope everyone is doing well, this week.  Here, in central Texas, school has begun.  My kiddo is only 3-1/2 and isn't in any school, yet.  But, several of my mama friends have kindergartners, this year.  Many emotions shared.  Makes me excited and a little sad for 2 years from now when my baby girl starts. In the meantime, I'm just enjoying the fun we have together and enjoying the inspiration she gives me for scrapping.
Here is one of my favorite pictures of her.  In this, I had fun getting the tag at the lower left corner to look like it was sewn into the ribbon. It took a steady hand and a little patience, but I got it!  I'm sure those who have been scrapping for a while think this is pretty basic, now, but for a newbie like me, it was a feeling of accomplishment to get it the way I wanted it to look.
The kit is Always and Forever, which you can get here.

Have you learned a new technique that you'd like to show off?  I'd love to see!  So please comment and let me know!
In my last post, I told you about a challenge I tried at scrapbook-bytes.com.  I used the kit Dirt Don't Hurt, which you can get here
The challenge I did was Bytes to Go, and my "menu" ended up being:
2 plain papers
2 patterned
cluster your elements in any way
1 horizontal photo
add tags or put dates of the photo/s in your LO
add 8 elements

Here is my result:

This was a fun challenge to do.  If you're curious about doing a scrapping challenge, I encourage you to go for it!  This particular one, which I believe is monthly, was a fun one to do for my first time. Or try the one that Sarah posted on this blog last Tuesday, the 17th.  I'm thinking I am going to try it out, myself.

Until next time - I encourage you to check out the beautiful kits Mel has available, and to challenge yourself.
